Positions, Compensation, and Information

Georgia Vent Works is a commercial exhaust cleaning company based out of Conyers Ga. We are a family owned company. You will be dealing directly with the owners Roger and Kenneth Medbery (Father and son). We have a fairly open environment and like to maintain a close relationship with all of our employees. We encourage you to talk to other employees before joining our team to get direct opinions from people that already work here. We have provided hood cleaning services to the southeast for over 17 years now and have seen everything this industry has to offer. Positions:

There are two positions that can be applied for. 1- Lead technician and 2- assistant technician. Please read both the requirements and compensation for both positions before filling the application form below.

1. Lead tech requirements
2. Must be able to pass a background check as we do many locations that require them such as casinos or military bases.
3. Must be able to lead your partner without butting heads.
4. Must be OK with driving multiple hours every night (paid)
5. Must have a smartphone to receive schedule and job information.
6. Must have a valid drivers license
7. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
8. Must be OK with climbing ladders and working on rooftops.
9. Must have an attention to detail as you will be responsible for communicating to customers and management, filling out required paperwork, and taking on site job pictures after each service.
10. Assistant tech requirements
11. Work well with your lead being able to take direction.
12. Must be OK with climbing ladders and working on rooftops
13. Must be able to pull yourself onto equipment to complete job tasks. (be able to lift your body weight onto cooking equipment roughly 4 feet off the ground.)
14. Must be able to get to and from work.

Compensation:

Both positions receive the following benefits.

1. PTO days accrued at a rate of 40 hours/year. Accrual starts after training. (full time only)
2. 8 paid holidays per year (Memorial day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New years eve, and New years) Only applies if they fall on a work day Sunday-Thursday, double time if you want to work on one of these days.
3. Raises given based on performance.
4. Profit sharing on anything you sell to customers during service.

Lead compensation

1. $12 an hour during training. Training takes 2-8 weeks depending on your ability
2. After Training you are paid $20 an hour (at job site) and $10 an hour for drive time.
3. After the end of your training you will receive a company smartphone with unlimited data (You can use this as your personal phone if desired at this point)
4. Also 6 months after training you will be officially assigned one of our trucks at which point you can take the vehicle home with you after work instead of bringing it back to the shop every night. Minor personal use is allowed at this point.

Assistant compensation

1. You will receive $14 an hour (at job site) and $10 an hour for drive time.

Other information:

90% of our work takes place overnight. We have to perform this service when these restaurants are closed which means or hours end up being the hours when most business is closed. This position is Sunday-Thursday with the occasional weekend job.  Below is an example schedule from one of my crews to help illustrate what a schedule might look like. Please keep in mind we do our best to have your schedule up 2 weeks in advance but it will vary.

Sunday- starts 9pm doing a mom and pop restaurant and a shanes rib shack. (6-8 hour shift)

Monday- starts at 8pm doing a Bambinellies and a shanes rib shack. (6-8 hour shift)

Tuesday- starts 8:45pm doing a shanes rib shack and meehans public house. (8-12 hour shift)

Wednesday- starts 6:00pm doing southlake mall and johnnys pizza. (7-10 hour shift)

Thursday- starts 2:00pm doing a detention center and a moes. (7-10 hour shift)
